Soliman or Slimane ( Arabic سليمان) is a small Tunisian town in the southwest of Cap Bon . The city with around 30,000 inhabitants belongs to the Nabeul Governorate and is the capital of the Soliman delegation of the same name .

Soliman is about 35 km (driving distance) southeast of the capital Tunis at an altitude of about 28 m above sea level. d. Soliman gained its importance at the beginning of the 17th century through the settlement with a colony of Muslim ( Moriscos , forced Catholic descendants of the Moors) and Jewish refugees from Andalusia , who gave the city of Soliman its urban character (mosques, schools, markets, cafes, small town center).
