Works

Her work in various media is largely characterized by a fascination with the ephemeral, both in the material and in the concept of her performances and installations . She organizes banquets where practically everything is edible and should be eaten, and she also works as a sculptor in butter , chocolate and similar materials. The ephemeral character of her installations not only indicates the evanescence of everything earthly, but is also part of venerable traditions. Joseph Beuys , for example, was an artist who worked with perishable materials ( fat and honey ), and the banquets form are in the succession of Cena Trimalchionis of Petronius Arbiter , the royal banquets (and its depiction), which are an honor was to watch the nobility eat and watch the Last Supper . Alhauser's work also includes sculptures in nickel silver and she creates monumental wall drawings. But she also works in traditional media such as watercolor , acrylic, and pencil . In doing so, she creates distributive, all-over compositions with animals, fruits, vegetables, items of clothing, body parts and mythological figures . Her art is considered to be an important contribution to the discussion about the ethics of enjoyment.
