Sonnenschein is a court in Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Sunshine is located in the south-east of Remscheid in the statistical district of Bergisch Born Ost in the Lennep district in the Dörpetal on the border with Hückeswagen . Neighboring towns in the Remscheid area are Bornbach , Siepen and Dörpe and Niederdorp , Winterhagen , Niederwinterhagen and Därersteeg in the Hückeswagen urban area. The Hofschaft can be reached via a branch road from the federal road 237 between Hückeswagen and Remscheid- Bergisch Born , which branches off at Dörpe.

The route of the disused railway line between Bergisch Born and Marienheide ( timetable KBS 412) leads past the Hofschaft.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a single courtyard and describes it as sunshine.

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 ten people lived in the village. In 1832, Sonnenschein belonged to the Great Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at the time. At that time there were 41 inhabitants, two of them Catholic and 39 Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , two houses with 13 residents are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had two houses with nine inhabitants, in 1905 one house and eight inhabitants.

In the course of the North Rhine-Westphalian municipal area reform (Section 21 Düsseldorf Law ), the eastern area around Bergisch Born with the Sunshine Farm was removed from the city of Hückeswagen on January 1, 1975 and incorporated into the city of Remscheid.
