Sophie Bhaud

Sophie Bhaud (born February 23, 1939 ) is a French film editor .

Life

Sophie Bhaud first worked as editor in 1964 for Alexandre Astruc's short film The Well and the Pendulum , a television adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's short story The Pit and the Pendulum . This was followed by editing under the direction of Jacques Doniol-Valcroze , such as for Le Viol (1967) with Bibi Andersson and Das Haus der Bories (1970) with Marie Dubois . She worked with director Claude Lelouch for the first time for A Man Seeks a Woman (1978) with Charles Denner and Jacques Villeret . A year later she was also responsible for editing Lelouch's film drama Just for Two (1979), in which Catherine Deneuve and Jacques Dutronc played the leading roles .

For every man his reward is received ... (1981), Lelouch's cinematic tribute to the music and the dance, Bhaud got along with her frequent partner section Hugues Darmois nominated for a César in the category Best Editing . The French filmmaker's films in which Bhaud was involved also include Die Zeit des Verbrechens (1987), The Lion (1988) with Jean Paul Belmondo and So Are the Days and the Moon (1990). Bhaud was active as a film editor until 1998.
