Sophie Wolf (singer)
Sophie Wolf , also Sofie Wolf , (born July 27, 1880 in Colmar , † March 29, 1938 in Seefeld in Tirol ) was a German opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
She began her professional career in 1906 at the Stadttheater von Halle (Saale) , from where she moved to the Opera House in Cologne in 1909 . From 1921 to 1925 she then sang at the Duisburg City Theater and finally from 1925 to 1930 in Nuremberg in the opera of the City Theater there.
Internationally known singer has been through many guest appearances, including at the Court Opera Dresden , at the Théâtre La Monnaie in Brussels , at the Covent Garden Royal Opera House in London , in Bayreuth , the opera house Frankfurt am Main , at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona , at at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and at the Vienna State Opera .
She particularly stood out in operas by Richard Wagner (Isolde in Tristan , Sieglinde in Die Walküre , Elsa in Lohengrin , Kundry in Parsifal ) and by Richard Strauss (Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier , Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos , the Empress in Die Frau ohne Schatten ).
