Sorge is a housing estate belonging to the Pennewitz district of the city of Ilmenau in the Ilm district in Thuringia .

Between the foothills south of Langewiesen and the beginning of the Thuringian Forest north of Großbreitenbach , the district of Sorge is located on the western edge of Pennewitz on the federal road 88 in a trough-shaped, higher valley. The corridor is used for agriculture according to the altitude.

history

The district was first mentioned in a document in 1856. With the incorporation of Pennewitz, Sorge came to the city of Ilmenau on July 6, 2018.
