geography
Lehmannsbrück is on the road from Gräfinau-Angstedt in the south to Traßdorf in the north on the edge of the Ilm valley . In the village are the Feierabendheim , a former old people's home, as well as some residential buildings. Today a community of artists, craftsmen and farmers lives in the Feierabendheim. The Gutshofteich is located next to the buildings in the east, while the high-speed line Nuremberg-Erfurt runs in the forest only about 200 meters west of Lehmannsbrück .
history
Lehmannsbrück was first mentioned in 1289 as Lybansbrucken . At that time the settlement belonged to the Grafschaft Schwarzburg . In addition, the Cistercian monastery Stadtilm , the lords of Wüllersleben , the Teutonic Order and the lords of Witzleben were wealthy in the village and its corridor in the Middle Ages . However, Lehmannsbrück did not develop into a larger village, rather it was the seat of a forest district (it only covered about 78 hectares in 1839) as well as an inn and was run as a count's, later a princely chamber property of the Schwarzburger. Until 1961, part of Lehmannsbrück belonged to the Niederwillingen community , and only since then has the entire settlement been part of Gräfinau-Angstedt . Between 1952 and 1961, the border between the Erfurt district and the Suhl district divided the place - a situation that existed for the whole of the GDR era in the Dörrberg settlement, which had also emerged from a forestry office .
In 1927 the district retirement home of the Arnstadt district was set up in Lehmannsbrück . In 1946, 46 people were housed there. After the reunification of the GDR era when it was Feierabendheim called home for the elderly in Lehmann bridge closed. In 1994 Lehmannsbrück, as part of Gräfinau-Angstedts, became part of the newly founded community of Wolfsberg in the newly created Ilm district. This was incorporated into the city of Ilmenau on July 6, 2018.
