Speil von Ostheim (also Spyl , Spiel , Latinized Spilonis ) is a noble family from the Silesian principality of Neisse .

history

Although the lineage is given as Johann Speil , formerly Erbrichter zu Heinzendorf bei Olbersdorf, beginning in 1741, the actual ancestor of the family , Albert Speil , can be found in the Codex diplomaticus Silesiae as early as 1307 , who in that year gave two bushels to the Schweidnitz Dominican monastery with the consent of his heirs Granted constant interest to Korn. Elger Speil is documented as Burgrave of Ottmachau in 1352 . This owned the allodial goods Schwandorf (10 km south of Ottmachau) and Koschberdorf (15 km northwest of Ottmachau) .
