The Sportbootvereinigung (SBV) eV in the German Motor Yacht Association is the largest association affiliated to the German Motor Yacht Association with a little more than 5000 members . It was founded on September 2, 1989 in Hamburg and is entered in the register of associations there . The office is in Duisburg .

purpose

The sport boat association offers skippers advice and help and lets them participate in the tourist, technical and sporting development of sport boating. It cooperates with the member associations of the German Motor Yacht Association and does not compete with them.

The sports boat association also lives up to its supraregional importance through the locations of the biennial general assembly: For example in 2009 in Bremerhaven , 2011 in Papenburg , 2013 in Bingen am Rhein , 2015 in Kressbronn am Bodensee , 2016 in Senftenberg and 2018 in Wilhelmshaven .

Services

Member information

The association magazine WasserSport is specially tailored to motorized sport shipping and contains additional news from the German Motor Yacht Association. It is published monthly by SVG Service Verlag and is automatically sent to all members of the sports boat association. In addition, a newsletter provides information about current developments in the association 5–6 times a year.

Nautical information service

The Nautical Information Service is a monthly compilation of all official reports on closures on German rivers and canals. It appears from April to November and can be obtained by subscription .

NOK help

NOK-Help is the name of a rescue boat on the Kiel Canal . It belongs to the sports boat association and is operated in cooperation with the Schleswig-Holstein Motor Yacht Association and the Rendsburg Regatta Association. The 5.1 m long rigid inflatable boat with two outboard motors is stationed in the Obereidersee .

A group insurance competitive rates for which are hull , Wassersporthaftpflicht- and charter -Insurance offered. There are further advantages when visiting water sports fairs , breakdown assistance at sea and a special charter offer.

So-called bases are yacht harbors with which the sport boat association has negotiated special conditions for its members. There is one SBV base each on Lake Constance , on the Upper Rhine , on the Dortmund-Ems Canal , on Krk and Sardinia, as well as two bases on the Gulf of Venice .
