The Spronser Rötelspitze ( Italian Cima Rosa ), also called Algunder Rötelspitze , is a 2625 m slm high mountain in South Tyrol . The main summit is also known as the Große Rötelspitze , to the southeast is the 2545 m high Kleine Rötelspitze ( 46 ° 43 ' N , 11 ° 6' E ).
Location and surroundings
The Spronser Rötelspitze is located in the southeastern Texel Group , a mountain group of the Ötztal Alps . To the south, the Rötelspitze drops steeply to the valley basin of Merano near Lagundo , which is over 2,000 meters lower . The Algunder fraction Vellau is here at about 1000 m . The neighboring mountain in the west is the Tschigat ( 2998 m ), separated from the Rötelspitze by the 2441 m high Hochgangschartl . In the north, the Spronser Lakes extend at the end of the Sprons valley . To the southeast, a ridge runs to the Kleiner Rötelspitze and on over the approximately 2200 m high Mitterjoch to the 2294 m high Mutspitze . The Spronser Rötelspitze is part of the Texel Group Nature Park .
Bases and paths
The normal route to the summit leads from Hochgangschartl over the west ridge as a marked trail to the summit in around half an hour. Access to the Hochgangschartl is possible from the south via an insured path . As bases in the can 1839 m preferred Hochganghaus and Leiteralm ( 1522 m ) above are of Vellau. The Hochgangschartl can also be reached from the north of the Spronser Seenplatte, with the Gasthof Oberkaser ( 2131 m ) and the Bockerhütte ( 1700 m ) serving as a base . The ascent via the north ridge is also possible.
In winter the Rötelspitze can be climbed as a ski tour . The route can lead over the north-west flank as well as over the north-east side through the cirque between the Großer and Kleiner Rötelspitze.
