Local history
Stätzling is mentioned as a settlement of a Stazilo as early as the 13th century , when the Augsburg monastery of St. Ulrich and Afra obtained riches from the mill in Stazilingen . As a rule, the place was given the name of the founder, tribal elder or local nobleman by adding the syllable "-ingen".
The Swabian name for the Hofmark Stezlingen , which was still common during the Thirty Years' War and also at the beginning of the 19th century, was changed over the centuries to the Bavarian ending "-ing" through the Bavarian state influence via the superior ducal district court Friedberg shortened.
On July 1, 1972, the previous community of Haberskirch was incorporated into Stätzling. On May 1, 1978, as part of the regional reform, it was incorporated into Friedberg, with the exception of the hamlet Unterzell , which became a district of Dasing .
