Haberskirch is a district of Friedberg in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg .

location

The parish village is about four kilometers north-east of Friedberg, 500 m south of the A8 motorway (Munich-Augsburg).

history

Haberskirch was first mentioned in 1248. The place belonged to the Wittelsbach duchy of Mühlhausen. In 1554 there were 17 fireplaces in the village, in 1760 18 of them. In 1796 the village was looted during the French War.

A school is first mentioned in 1842, and a schoolhouse has existed since at least 1876.

In 1821 Haberskirch became an independent municipality with the addition of the hamlet Unterzell . On July 1, 1972, it was incorporated into Stätzling as part of the regional reform . On May 1, 1978, Stätzling was incorporated into Friedberg.
