Paar is a district of Friedberg in the Bavarian - Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg .

Paar is four kilometers east of Friedberg am Altgraben and the Paar , a right tributary of the Danube , which gave the place its name. The previously independent parish of Paar was incorporated into Friedberg on January 1, 1974. The settlement was first mentioned in writing in the 12th century, when “Pernhart de Parra” was mentioned as a witness to a donation to the Augsburg monastery of St. Ulrich and Afra .

St. John Baptist Church

The Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist was originally the baptistery of an early parish . The oldest parts of the church date from the 13th century, such as parts of the tower base. In 1747 it was converted into a baroque church.
