description

building

The church building is an elongated hall with a retracted, square choir that dates from the 13th century. This was subsequently extended by one yoke to the east. The nave is changed in baroque style. The upper floor of the square west tower was demolished in 1986/87 and closed with a hipped gable roof . The building was restored between 1991 and 1997.

Interior and equipment

In the interior, a pointed triumphal arch separates the nave and the choir. Both parts of the choir are provided with burr vaults. In the younger cultivation, these have a lower apex height. In the ship there is a wooden barrel ceiling and a two-storey horseshoe gallery . The arched windows of the ship date from 1859. The painting on the altarpiece with a Gethsemani depiction from 1703 is by Samuel Bottschild the Elder. J. and was repainted in 1859. The sandstone baptism in the church can be dated to 1598 with an inscription. A crucifix in relief, as well as inscription and ornament fields, are located on the bowl . On the pulpit , which dates from 1712, oval pictures depict Peter, the Brazen Serpent , the Lamb of God and Christ.

Others

On the north wall of the choir is a heavily weathered sandstone epitaph for Anton von Werthern, who died in 1579.
