description

The nave , covered with a gable roof , was built in 1604. The retracted choir tower of the hall church dates from 1492, as can be seen from the building inscription on the southeast corner. The addition for the sacristy in the northeast was built later. The gable roof of the tower with stepped gables is unusual for the region . The tower clock is located there . The floor below houses the belfry behind sound arcades . In the interior of the nave there are three-sided circumferential galleries and in the east the organ gallery from approx. 1683.

The organ prospectus is provided with ornaments , including the coat of arms of Saxony . The old organ of the Meiningen town church has been moved into the church here. It has been replaced by an organ that has 21 registers divided between two manuals and a pedal . It was built in 1743 by Johann Ernst Döring , rebuilt in 1869 by Johann Hoffmann and restored in 2002 by Hey Orgelbau .
