description

The baroque half-timbered church was built around 1745 using older buildings from the 13th century. The hall church needed repair as early as 1773. As part of a renovation , the slate-covered dome of the church tower was given its widely visible gilded tower ball with weather vane and cross in 1994 . The hereditary burial of the owners of the former Klettenberg manor , the Lords of Zangen, is located in the church.

The interior is covered with a wooden barrel vault. It has galleries on four sides. The pulpit altar belongs to the baroque church furnishings , above which a painting by the painter Heinz Weber from 1973, "Jesus Way to the Crucifixion ", is enthroned.

The organ with nine registers , divided into two manuals and a pedal , was built in 1835 by Friedrich Christian Knauf . The church has been thoroughly restored with the help of the German Foundation for Monument Protection .
