St. Elisabeth in Adelzhausen

The Catholic parish church of St. Elisabeth is a monument in Adelzhausen .

The church was built in the second half of the 15th century. In 1757 the nave was rebuilt . St. Elisabeth is a hall church structured by pilasters with a stab cap barrel . The retracted choir is closed on three sides. The tower on the south side has a gable roof with stepped gables . The frescoes show the glory of St. Elisabeth in the choir. In the nave, the Holy Spirit with angels as well as the alms giving of the church patroness and to the side the church fathers and the cardinal virtues are depicted. The ceiling paintings were created around 1757 and are attributed to Sigismund Reis . The altars and the pulpit are from around the same time . The figure of St. Joseph in the right side altar was created in 1762 by Johann Caspar Öberl . The depiction of St. Elisabeth was created around 1480/90. in the sign there is a grave slab for a Waldemar von Adelzhausen around 1390.
