St. Jacobus (Lutten)
St. Jacobus (also: St. James ) in Lutten is a daughter church of the Catholic parish of St. Gorgonius in Goldenstedt that the Dean's Office Vechta the diocese of Münster is a member. The church is under the patronage of St. Jacobus Maior (i.e. the elder) .
history
The parish Lutten earliest founded in the late 13th century by Auspfarrung of Visbek ( St. Vitus ). A parish church was built in the 14th century and existed until the 19th century. The current church was built from 1877 to 1879 according to plans by the Osnabrück architect Franz Xaver Lütz .
Building description
The neo-Gothic pillar church made of red brick has a four-bay nave , a retracted choir with a five-eighth end and a projected west tower . The nave and choir are equipped with ribbed vaults .
Furnishing
The cylindrical font dates from the 16th century. Wooden figures of the apostles Peter and Paul were made by Johann Heinrich König around 1770 .
