St. Johannis (Drognitz)
The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Johannis is located at Ortsstrasse 11 in the municipality of Drognitz in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . The parish of Drognitz belongs to the parish Drognitz of the parish of Rudolstadt-Saalfeld.
history
The church was rebuilt from 1699 to 1701 after its predecessor was demolished. It was renovated in 1977/78 and 1991 .
Building description
The hall church , which is covered with a hipped roof , has a six-sided roof tower with a French dome , which is crowned by a lantern . The roof, tower, hood and lantern are covered with slate. The interior has a flat ceiling . The fields of the parapet of the two-storey gallery are marbled.
Outside there are three tombstones from the Rococo period .
Furnishing
The pulpit altar from 1701 has carved tendrils on the sides . The winged altar from around 1500 contains a carved figure of Maria with her child . The stone baptismal font dates from the 16th century.
The organ with a manual , a pedal and 10 stops was built in 1725 by Andreas Nicolaus Franke from Leutenberg. It was restored in 1988 by Thilo Viehrig.
