The pastoral care station St. Josef der Arbeiter is a Roman Catholic church in the Groß-Jedlersdorf district in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf at Holetschekgasse 6.

history

The church was an emergency church on the initiative of Josef Gorbach for the workers of Vienna. In the Schotterfeld settlement, a church was added to an existing settlement house from 1953 between 1958 and 1959. The former Rector's Church is now run as a pastoral care station for the parish church of St. Markus in Heinz-Nittel-Hof .

architecture

The church is a hall building with a flat roof and an almost square floor plan. There is a free-standing bell chair in the front garden.

Furnishing

The altarpiece of St. Joseph with child from 1960 is by Eva Bauernfeind. The carved figure Maria with child from 1975 is by Fritz Heckerling.
