The Church of St. Katharina is a Catholic branch church in Schwarzenbach , a district of the municipality of Nonnweiler in the district of St. Wendel , Saarland . It bears the patronage of Saint Catherine of Alexandria and is listed as an individual monument in the Saarland's list of monuments .

history

The church was built in 1876 and was expanded in 1933 according to plans by the architect Monz.

The Catholics of Schwarzenbach were assigned as a branch of the parish of St. Valentin in Otzenhausen until 1927 . After that, Schwarzenbach became a branch of the parish Rosenkranzkönigin in Sötern, which was raised to the status of vicarie in 1927 .

In 2007 the branch parish of St. Katharina in Schwarzenbach with the residential areas Steinkaul, Ziegelhütte and Schwarzenbornhof was reparsed from the parish and parish Rosenkranzkönigin in Sötern to the parish and parish of St. Valentin in Otzenhausen.

The organ of the church was built in 1960 by the Hugo Mayer company ( Heusweiler ). In 1979, the organ builder Herbert Schmidt ( Mersch / Luxemburg ) electrified the action of the organ , as the mechanical cable action had proven to be extremely imprecise and prone to failure. As part of this measure , the gaming table , which previously stood at right angles to the parapet on the left side of the gallery , was made movable.

The abrasive loading -instrument is on a loft positioned and has 12 registers , spread over 2 manuals and pedal . The playing and stop action is electric. The disposition is as follows:
