history

In the 15th century there was already a church in Tetz. The choir, closed on three sides, is still preserved from this building . The origins of this church go back to 1291. In the 1810s the tower with the single nave was built. The nave was badly damaged during the Second World War and at the end of the war in 1945 the church tower was blown up by German troops for strategic reasons. The nave was restored by 1949. In 1956 the bell tower was rebuilt under the direction of the Aachen architect Josef Hensen.

Furnishing

The chancel was rebuilt from 1970 to 1971 according to plans by Jülich architect HJ Werth. The organ is a work by Gebrüder Stockmann Orgelbau, Werl and dates back to 2001. The instrument has 9 registers distributed over a manual and a pedal. The glass painter Paul Weigmann created the church windows in the choir in 1970.
