The St. Lambertus Church is the Roman Catholic parish church in the Welz district of the city of Linnich in the Düren district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
history
The Welz parish was first mentioned in a document in 1300. However, nothing is known about the parish church at that time . A church tower was erected in the 16th century and the nave of this church was replaced in 1853/54 by a new, neo-Gothic nave designed by the architect Richard Castenholz from Malmedy . The church was completely destroyed during World War II. In 1963/64 a new church was built according to plans by the Linnich architect Werner Finkeldei.
