St. Leonhard is a district of Villach in Carinthia , Austria and is located in the north of the city near Lind .
General
The place spreads between Neulandskron in the east, Villach city center in the south, Lind in the west and Vassach in the north. The area is flat and it is on terraces. The terraces drop steeply at each end and are a typical feature of the northern districts of Villach.
The St. Leonharder See, also called Leonharder See , is located in the northeast of the district.
The place is characterized by the so-called New Home . After the Second World War in the 1950s, entire streets were provided with three-story residential buildings as part of a housing project, which are still inhabited today. These houses are row houses directly on the streets and have a garden inside .
There is a small pond in the village, the Petschnigteich .
The St. Leonharder See is a small lake with a restaurant Seestuben and a moonlight bar .
St. Leonhard Church
The St. Leonhard Church is in the middle of the village and has already been rebuilt several times. It is consecrated to St. Leonhard . The former late Gothic church was first mentioned in a document in 1399. After a big fire, the church was rebuilt, the vault was pulled a little deeper. In 1936 the church was renovated again. The church was last rebuilt in 1993.
The altars consist of a high altar and two side altars. In 1945 the church was badly damaged and then rebuilt.

There is a kindergarten , a post office and a supermarket in the village .
Today the picture is also shaped by modern new buildings.
