St. Michael (Lütgeneder)
The Catholic parish church of St. Michael is a listed church building on Dreier Strasse in Lütgeneder , a district of Borgentreich in the Höxter district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The early neo-Gothic hall church was built from 1850 to 1852 by Conrad Franz Rembert Niermann over an almost square floor plan. Sandstone blocks from the Hardehausen monastery church were used as building material . The choir with a 5/8 end has moved in, the west tower with a pointed helmet is presented. The spire was renewed by Fanz Mündelein in 1897.
organ
The current organ was installed by the local company Orgelbau Simon using the neo-Gothic prospectus from 1874 . It can be played with two manuals and a pedal .
Furnishing
- In the west wall there are niches with the sandstone figures of Immaculata and St. Michael . They were made by Joseph Hellweg in 1852.
- The high altar was built by Joseph Hillebrand in 1848, the figures were added around 1908.
- Joseph Hillebrand's wooden pulpit dates from the time the church was built.
- An oil painting by Anton Joseph Stratmann shows Michael's fight with the dragon, it was painted in 1854 and restored in 1957.
- A wooden Pietà was created in the 17th century.
