The Catholic parish church of St. Oswald in Tannenberg , a part of the municipality of Burggen in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau , was built between 1819 and 1827. The church on the site of a previous building, at the northern end and at the highest point of the village, is a protected architectural monument .

architecture

The plastered hall church with a strongly drawn-in polygonal choir was built by the Schongau city ​​mason Matthias Left and consecrated on August 7, 1827. The sacristy is attached to the choir . The strong west tower with octagon is closed by a pressed pointed helmet . The flat-roofed nave with a surrounding cornice band has three arched window axes , a sparse stucco decoration and a simple gallery in the west. The ceiling paintings come from the Schongau painter Nikolaus Augner. The Lord's Supper is depicted in the choir and St. Oswald as intercessor in the nave .

Furnishing

The building in the Biedermeier style has a completely preserved classicist interior :

  • The high altar sheet with the coronation of the church patron by an angel probably also came from Nikolaus Augner . The figures between the columns of the altar are probably St. Mary Magdalene and St. Oswald. The excerpt shows the bust of God the Father .
  • In the side altars there are carvings with Our Lady and St. Nepomuk .
  • The pulpit is marked with the year 1816.
  • The cheeks of the pews date from the middle of the 18th century.
