The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul is located in the district of Thanning in the municipality of Egling in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen . The Grade II listed church as a parish church belongs to the parish of St. Peter and Paul Thanning the deanery Wolfratshausen in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . The address is Hauptstrasse 14 .

history

Thanning has been a parish seat since the 14th century; in the late Middle Ages , Wolfratshausen was also temporarily looked after from here. After the previous building was largely destroyed by fire, today's church was built in 1786/1787 under the Wolfratshauser Peter Reiser. The late Romanesque choir tower was reused as the tower substructure .

Description and equipment

The east- facing church with a retracted choir is connected to the late Romanesque church tower with a baroque helmet to the east . It contains five church bells , the largest of which is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and weighs 1945  kilograms . The Baroque and Rococo - equipment is the Wessobrunner plasterer Franz Doll attributed .

organ

The parapet organ created in 1845 by Joseph Frosch senior. from Munich with seven registers was replaced in 1989 by a new building by Maximilian Offner . He took over pedal registers from the old stock. The new instrument with 14 registers on two manuals and pedal has a slide drawer and a fully mechanical action .
