location

The main road leads into town from west to east. In front of the town center, it meets the Lübser Landstrasse coming from the southwest . Both enclose a trapezoidal , non- fenced plot to the west on which the building stands.

history

Although the place was mentioned for the first time in 1244, the inhabitants did not have their own sacred building for many centuries . At the beginning of the 20th century there was an economic boom, as a result of which a church was built for the first time. Under the direction of the Szczecin architect Rudolf Sack , craftsmen built a stealthy hall. Its church tower is reminiscent of a lighthouse . In 1993 the plaster was renewed. At the turn of the year 2002/2003 a 40 m² photovoltaic system went into operation on the gable roof , which the parish had installed beforehand. It has an output of up to 4.8  kWp . In 2016 there was extensive algae infestation on the facade, which made renovation necessary.

Building description

East tower

The entire structure was built from bricks , which were then lightly plastered . The choir is rectangular and strongly drawn in. On the west side is a circular window in the middle of the wall; the other sides as well as the gable are closed. It has a simple gable roof.

The nave , which is also rectangular in plan, has a small, rectangular window in the east gable. The north and south sides are largely axially symmetrical. Three large, beehive-shaped windows dominate here. On the north side there are two equally large windows offset in height. This is followed by two small windows in the lower area of the south wall and a small one above.

The transverse rectangular church tower has been drawn in and can be entered from the east through a rectangular portal. Above is a cartouche with a verse from the Gospel according to Mark : "All things are possible / he who believes" ( Mk 9.23  EU ) as well as a small and square window above. Further smaller windows are installed asymmetrically on the north and south sides, as well as on the upper storey on the west and east sides. Above is a platform and a small, octagonal attachment with four sound arcades , which ends with a tower ball and cross.

Furnishing

Church interior (2014)

The church furnishings are modern. On the altar is a small metal cross, which H. Griese from Erfurt probably created around 1960 to 1980.

The interior of the building is flat covered; the choir has a barrel vault .

On the tower floor there is a bronze bell from 1937 and another made of steel, which was cast in 1959.

To the east of the building, on an area fenced in with a hedge, there is a memorial for those who died in the First World War and, a few meters further, a second memorial for the victims in the Second World War .
