The Forchheim city bus serves local public transport in Forchheim and some places in the surrounding area on behalf of the Forchheim district and the city of Forchheim. The tariff of the transport association for the greater Nuremberg area (VGN) applies to the entire network of the Forchheim city bus .

Line network

The city bus network has been operated by Omnibusverkehr Franken GmbH since the timetable change in December 2013 . It consists of four lines with 61 stops that connect the entire city and parts of Pinzberg .

The line numbers in the VGN are 261 to 264, these numbers are used consistently. There are no native numbers.

The lines are reinforced by the regional bus routes 265 and 266, which have been operated by the Klemm company since December 2013.

During the Annafest there is a special line that connects the large car park in Forchheim Süd with the ZOB (train station) and the fairground. VGN tickets are not accepted on this line .

Lines 261 and 262 run every 30 minutes. Line 263 runs every hour, with line 265 the frequency in the local area of ​​Forchheim is compressed to 30 minutes. Line 264 is not clocked and drives to the clinic three times a day. Pinzberg is served six times as well as an industrial park in the south of the city once a day during shift times. Lines 261 to 263 run Monday to Friday from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Line 264 only runs Monday through Friday. Since December 2007 lines 261 to 263 have also been running every hour on market and Advent Sundays.

The meeting point for all lines is the central bus station (ZOB) on the station square, where you can change to seven regional bus lines and to rail transport on the Nuremberg – Bamberg line . Vehicles and infrastructure

In urban areas, low-floor buses from Irisbus of the Crossway LE type with kneeling technology are currently in use. All buses have an acoustic passenger information system, the next station is announced by an automatic voice. In the intercity area, vehicles from Setra under the type Setra S 415 NF are mainly used.
