Location of Stangengrün in Saxony

Stangengrün has been part of the city of Kirchberg since 1997 .

Geographical location and development

Stangengrün is the most distant part of Kirchberg and lies on the border with the Vogtland . The place is at an altitude of 390 to 530 m above sea level in the same side valley of the Crinitzer water as Hirschfeld . Other neighboring towns are Lengenfeld (Vogtland) (districts Irfersgrün and Pechtelsgrün ), Rodewisch (district Röthenbach ), Steinberg (Vogtland) (district Wildenau) (all in the Vogtland district) and Crinitzberg (districts Obercrinitz and Lauterhofen (in the district of Zwickau) ). The main town of Kirchberg can therefore only be reached on one road via other communities.

Stangengrün has loose buildings, mostly along the road, as well as a small residential area and individual new houses. There are a large number of three and four-sided courtyards as well as one to two-storey single house developments.

The place mainly has a residential function, but there is a structure of locally compatible craft and service companies as well as agricultural facilities. In addition, Ebert & Weichsel GmbH is a traditional brush production facility, the largest company in the area, and a day-care center sponsored by the city of Kirchberg in Stangengrün. The Stangengrüner Mühlenbäckerei AG has a branch in the village and secures local supplies with the sale of everyday goods and groceries.

history

The Waldhufendorf Stangengrün was founded around 1200 by the lords of Schönfels Castle . At that time the manor had the manor Stangengrün located in the village. In contrast to the main town of Kirchberg and the other districts, Stangengrün belonged to the Zwickau office from 1764 to 1856 , then to the Kirchberg court office and from 1875 to the Zwickau administration , the successor of which is the Zwickau district . From July to December 1952, Stangengrün briefly belonged to the Auerbach district in Vogtland and was then reassigned to the Zwickau district.

On January 1, 1997, Stangengrün was incorporated into Kirchberg.
