From 2004 to 2010 StarParks was part of the British investment company Palamon Capital Partners , headquartered in Wavre, Belgium .
After Palamon took over the European parks of Six Flags Inc. in 2004 , they founded the new umbrella organization StarParks as the successor to the Six Flags European Division , previously the third largest amusement park operator in Europe . StarParks included Movie Park Germany and all six amusement parks of the Walibi Group (including Bellewaerde Park ).
In 2006, Palamon Bellewaerde and the Walibi-Parks sold exclusive Walibi Lorraine to the French chain Grévin & Cie . Walibi Lorraine was taken over by regional investors and was renamed Walygator Parc for the 2007 season . The Movie Park was still owned by investors until 2010, with the sale to Parques Reunidos , StarParks gave up its last amusement park .
