Steffen Schneider (Romance Studies)
Steffen Schneider (born March 16, 1970 in Zweibrücken ) is a German Romanist.
Life
After completing his primary and secondary school education, Schneider studied Romance and German at the University of Cologne and at the Università degli Studi di Genova from 1991 to 1998 ; He completed his studies with the first state examination with the grade "very good".
From 2001 to 2004 he worked as a research assistant at the Romance Studies Department of the University of Tübingen , and from 2002 as a lecturer. In 2003 Schneider did his doctorate at the University of Tübingen with the thesis archival poetics. The function of knowledge in Goethe's ' Faust II' for Doctor of Philosophy . From 2004 to 2011 Schneider worked as a research assistant for Romance Philology at the chair of Dr. Maria Moog-Grünewald in Tübingen; In 2011, with his habilitation, he obtained the license to teach Romance philology / literary studies and comparative literature.
From 2011 to 2017 he worked as a temporary academic advisor at the Romance seminar at the University of Tübingen; from 2014 he was a professor for Romance literature at the University of Trier . In 2015 the University of Tübingen awarded him the title of adjunct professor . Since 2017, Steffen Schneider has been university professor for Romance literature and cultural studies at the Institute for Romance Studies at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz .
