Stegen is a district of the municipality of Inning am Ammersee in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg .
The hamlet is located west of the core town of Inning directly on the north shore of the 46.6 km² Ammersee . The St 2070 and the A 96 run on the northern outskirts, while the Amper flows out of the Ammersee on the western outskirts . The Ampermoos nature reserve extends to the north . To the east is the Stegener Berg ( 571 m ).
Stegen is home to the home port and shipyard of the Bavarian Sea Shipping ships that operate on the Ammersee .

In the area around the Bräuhausweg there are several sites of burials from the Bronze Age and the Hallstatt Age .
