Steinberg is a district of the Lower Saxony district town of Goslar am Harz . It is located west of the old town and west of federal highway 82 .
The district takes its name from the 472 m high Steinberg west of the city of Goslar, on the top of which the Steinberg Tower, built in 1888, stands. The round brick observation tower was built as an imperial tower and later renamed the Steinberg tower . It is included as No. 111 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin.
The educational facility "Haus am Steinberg", which is located on the southeast slope of the Steinberg, is an independent conference center for various associations.
