Sarah Stephanie Markovits (born May 5, 1990 in Oberpullendorf ) is an Austrian folk music and hit singer .
Career
At the age of eight, her career began at the Kiddy Contest on ORF , where she took 4th place. This was followed by competitions at home and abroad, where, for example, she took first place at the International Contest of Young Singers in Slovenia . At the age of ten she represented Austria for the first time at the Grand Prix of Folk Music and took fourth place. Her second album Ich haben Stephanie (2001) sold almost 15,000 copies in Austria. With the duet title There on Cloud 7 , she won the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2002 together with the Nockalm Quintet as a 12-year-old .
In 2004 she again took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music , this time with the hit title Sleeping Beauty No More Sleeping . She decided to continue her way with hits. The album Schenk mir Dein Herz already contained some songs that the singer wrote herself, such as Hey Du over there . The single Butterflies don't lie from the summer of 2006 was also known in Germany. In 2007 Stephanie took courses at an academy for media communication in Vienna . In 2008 she attended a school in Miami for one year .
In 2009 she released the hit single Eiskalter Sommer under the name Sarah-Stephanie, produced by David Brandes . In January 2012 the album Herzkommando was released . Since 2013 she has been performing again under the name Stephanie. After further album releases, she moved from Austria to Holland in 2019 and had a son. In 2020, Stephanie will start her comeback after the baby break with a German version of Maggie Reilly's "Everytime We Touch" .
