Stephen Covey
Stephen R. Covey (born October 24, 1932 in Salt Lake City , Utah , † July 16, 2012 in Idaho Falls , Idaho ) was an American bestseller - author of self-help books and religious treatises and has been a professor at Jon since 2010 M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University . His book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is one of the most influential books on management methodology.
Life
Covey earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Harvard University and a Doctor of Religious Education (DRE) at Brigham Young University . He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Association .
Covey was practicing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints , for which he spent two years in England missionary . He and his wife Sandra had nine children. In 2003 he received the Fatherhood Award from the National Fatherhood Initiative .

In addition to secular self-help books, Covey also wrote religious tracts. Mormon ideas have been repeatedly described as the basis of his secular writings. Covey assured, however, that he "never let religion or politics flow into his books or worldwide seminars".
