Stephenie McMillan
Stephenie McMillan (born July 20, 1942 in Essex , † August 20, 2013 in Norfolk , sometimes also written Stephanie McMillan ) was a British production designer .
Life
McMillan came from Essex and after graduating from college initially worked as an administrative clerk at an architecture firm in London . After the birth of two daughters, she began working as a prop master for a photographer friend. Following on from this, she also did this work for television commercials. McMillan's work caught the eye of a film producer and she switched to film as a production designer. Her first film work was Paul McCartney's 1984 film Broad Street .
McMillan died in August 2013 at the age of 71 of complications from cancer.

Nominations and Awards
In 1997, McMillan and Stuart Craig won the Oscar for Best Production Design for their work on The English Patient . At the Academy Awards 2002 Craig and McMillan were nominated for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone , followed by the next nomination for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2006 . The third nomination for a Harry Potter film was received by McMillan, again with Stuart Craig, in 2011 for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 . For the last part of the Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 , McMillan was again nominated for Best Production Design in 2012 .
