Steve LaPorte (born before 1980) is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

LaPorte began his career on the film staff in 1980 as an assistant make-up artist while filming Don Edmond's horror musical Terror on Tour . This was followed by other horror films such as The Beast and The Thing from the Swamp , but also science fiction films such as Ice Pirate War and Star Trek III: In Search of Mr. Spock . In 1989 , Tim Burton's horror comedy Beetlejuice, along with Ve Neill and Robert Short, won him the Oscar for Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles . LaPorte was also nominated in the Best Mask category for Beetlejuice at the BAFTA Film Awards the following year, but here the monumental film The Last Emperor prevailed.

In addition to his film engagements, Dupuis also worked for American television, including the television series Lost , Bosch and Longmire . For his work on US television, LaPorte was nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy between 1993 and 2014 , which he won in 1999 for his work on the X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases .
