Steve Mullings (born November 28, 1982 in Saint Elizabeth Parish ) is a Jamaican sprinter .

In 2004 he won the Jamaican Championships in the 200-meter run . He was then nominated for the Olympic Games in Athens . However, a positive doping result prevented his start. After the B sample confirmed Mullings' illegal use of methyltestosterone , he was banned from competition for two years.

After his return to the track, he first appeared again at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka . He was a member of the Jamaican 4 x 100 meter relay , which won the silver medal in the final. Mullings himself was only used in the qualifying round.

At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin he was used again in the relay and this time was allowed to compete in the final as Jamaica's starting runner. Together with Michael Frater , Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell , he won the gold medal in the championship record time of 37.31 s. Mullings also competed over 200 meters in Berlin and finished fifth in a new personal best of 19.98 s.

At the beginning of June 2011 Mullings significantly increased his personal best in the 100-meter run at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene to 9.80 seconds. In August, shortly before the start of the World Championships in Daegu, it was announced that he had tested positive for the banned masking agent furosemide at the Jamaican Championships in late June . He was not nominated for the Jamaica team at the World Championships in Daegu. In November he was found guilty of repeated doping by a three-person committee of the Jamaican Anti-Doping Commission and banned for life.
