Steven Lee "Steve" Wagner (born March 6, 1984 in Grand Rapids , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Adler Mannheim in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Steve Wagner began his career as a hockey player in the junior league United States Hockey League , in which he was active from 2002 to 2004 for the Des Moines Buccaneers and Tri-City Storm. He then attended Minnesota State University, Mankato for three years and played parallel for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . On March 20, 2007, the defender received a contract as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues , for whose farm team Peoria Rivermen he made his professional ice hockey debut towards the end of the 2006/07 season when he scored a goal and two assists in 14 games scored in the American Hockey League . In the following two seasons he was about the same number of times for the farm team Peoria Rivermen in the AHL and for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League . In 46 NHL games he scored twelve points, four of which were goals, for St. Louis.

After Wagner had started the 2009/10 season exclusively with the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL, he was transferred to the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 11, 2010 in exchange for Nate Guenin , for whose AHL farm team Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins he was in the Follow standing on the ice regularly.

For the 2011/12 season Wagner signed a one-year contract with Adler Mannheim in the DEL . In the 2014/15 season he reached first place in the table after the regular season with the Eagles and won the German championship in the subsequent play-offs .
