The Mater Dolorosa Berlin-Lankwitz Foundation is a foundation under civil law with legal capacity and is based in Berlin-Lankwitz . It is the first legal foundation of a Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Berlin .
Foundation purpose
Purpose of the foundation is that in the municipality within the borders of 2006 driven work of the Catholic parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Berlin-Lankwitz and the church, religious, charitable and promote charitable concerns of the community in this area and support. This is intended to take account of the reduction in financing through church tax funds in the municipality , which occurred due to the financial allocations of the Berlin Archbishop's Ordinariate that were no longer available until 2009 .
The foundation is non-profit in the sense of the tax code , pursues exclusively church purposes and is selflessly active. The foundation's capital at the beginning of June 2016 was around 1.4 million euros. This makes it one of the larger incorporated foundations under civil law in Germany.
founding
The foundation was established on September 8, 2006 by the foundation business of the church council of the Catholic parish Mater Dolorosa . Among the members of the church council were the politician and notary Barbara Saß-Viehweger and the historian Lorenz Weinrich .
Recognized on September 25, 2006 by the responsible foundation supervisory authority , the Berlin Senate Department for Justice.
Projects
In addition to the financial support of the Mater Dolorosa community, the foundation is also involved in the implementation and promotion of events with or to well-known personalities, such as:

The Mater Dolorosa Berlin-Lankwitz Foundation is an independent foundation and consists of two independent, voluntary foundation bodies , the three- member board and the five-member board of trustees . In Berlin there are no foundations with legal capacity with exclusively church foundation supervision, so that the Mater Dolorosa Berlin-Lankwitz Foundation is subject to state supervision by Berlin in accordance with the provisions of the Berlin Foundation Act. The foundation supports, but is not operational.
