The Foundation of the German police union is the National Association Bavaria the German police union in DBB launched Foundation . Seat of the 1997 founded organization is Munich , the office is located in Lenggries (Bavaria). Its aim is to “ selflessly support employees and beneficiaries of the police and the security authorities in the Federal Republic of Germany or their surviving dependents who are dependent on the help of others due to their physical, mental or emotional state. The support can take the form of benefits in kind and one-off or recurring donations. ”The foundation's support is not reserved for union members, but is aimed at the persons named in the foundation's purpose, regardless of membership.

history

The former forest office in the case

The initial foundation capital was 100,000 DM and was raised by the then approximately 10,000 members of the DPolG Bavaria, approval was given by the foundation supervisory authority of the Upper Bavarian government. In 1998 the foundation leased three buildings from the Free State of Bavaria . Two of these houses are in the village of Fall , one in Niedernach am Walchensee . All the houses required renovation, which took three years.

The first building, the Leonhard Stimpfle House , was completed in 1999, and work on the main building, the former state forestry office in Fall, was completed in 2001 .

In 2002 the foundation took over several apartments in Lenggries from the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, which were also renovated. In 2008 the office, which had been in Munich until then, was relocated to Lenggries, and on May 26 of the same year the so-called Rollihaus , a barrier-free bungalow , was opened. In 2009 another apartment was completed in Lenggries, and in 2010 the renovated office and another apartment in Lenggries were inaugurated.

One building in Fall has been named Walter-Sporer-Haus since May 14th. The Nuremberg school director, who died in 2011, was associated with the security forces all his life - among other things, as head of the shanty choir of the Nuremberg water police . His legacy is the Walter Sporer Foundation, which supports their work under the umbrella of the DPolG Foundation.

Since February 2014 there has been a cooperation with the social work of the mountain troops of the Bundeswehr. Colonel a. D. Manfred Benkel and the foundation chairman Berend Jochem signed a corresponding agreement.

The properties are also available as holiday apartments on request to the professional groups described in the foundation's purpose and objectives.

Therapy room nature

The “Therapy Room Nature” has existed since 2018. This is a 14,000 m² forest area in which, with the help of police officers, a mixed mountain forest was created from a monoculture of spruce trees. The leased area will be managed as a project for 10 years. The area borders on the property of the foundation houses.

Foundation Board

The members of the foundation's board work on an honorary basis ; they manage the foundation and the foundation's assets. The tasks of the foundation board are regulated in the statutes.

Foundation Advisory Board

The foundation advisory board, which is also made up of volunteers, is elected. The voting body is the main board of the state board of the DPolG Bavaria. Members of the foundation board may not belong to the advisory board themselves, but they are elected by the advisory board. The advisory board advises the foundation's board of directors, participates in significant legal transactions, approves the budget for the foundation year and reviews the balance sheet. These annual financial statements are prepared by a tax advisor and auditor and sent to the government of Upper Bavaria (foundation supervision).
