Location and surroundings

It is located in a side ridge of the main ridge of the Allgäu Alps, which extends from the Hornbachspitze over the Großer Krottenkopf to the Jöchelspitze to the south into the Lech Valley . Here it lies between the Ramstallspitze in the north and the Rothornspitze in the south.

Ascent

From the Gumpensattel in the south a path with blurred markings leads over stepped rock to the summit. From the north, the mountain from the Karjoch ( 2305  m ) can be climbed through a channel with alpine difficulty UIAA I. Alternatively, the mountain can be climbed pathless over the sometimes steep grass slopes on the west side.
