Straight Frank is a Swedish rock band from Stockholm . The band was formed in 2008 and is under contract with Sony Music . The discography of Straight Frank has two studio albums.
history
In 2008 the singer and guitarist Tobias Gustavsson, the bassist Henrik Edenhed and the drummer Kasper Lindgren met at a showcase for a rock 'n' roll band in Stockholm. After the concert, the musicians started talking to each other and later met for a few jam sessions , which eventually became the band Straight Frank. The three musicians previously worked as musicians, producers and songwriters for other artists. Kasper Lindgren previously played for Prime STH . Henrik Edenhed mixed albums for bands like Lambretta , A * Teens and Sister Sin . Tobias Gustavsson played in the band Itchycoo and was a live musician with No Angels , Pink and Kylie Minogue .
Within a few months, the songs presented on Myspace were heard over 50,000 times. The debut album And We Walked by With a Bag Full of Money should be released in 2009. After the press sampled with promo CDs and the album received good reviews, the record company Bodog Music had to file for bankruptcy, which meant that the album was not released. The musicians tried in vain to get the rights to the album back.
In 2010 Straight Frank were signed to major label Sony Music and wrote new songs. During the following year the band played numerous concerts in Sweden and Germany , including supporting Alice Cooper and Deep Purple . In late 2011, the band recorded their self-titled, second studio album. The line-up was completed by guitarist Jonny Wemmenstedt, who works full-time as a tattoo artist . The album Straight Frank was released on January 27, 2012.

Singer and guitarist Tobias Gustavsson names hard rock of the 1970s and 1980s and grunge as the band's main influences. In an interview he named bands like AC / DC , Danko Jones , Audioslave , the Red Hot Chili Peppers , Whitesnake , Kiss and Twisted Sister as reference bands .
