course
The Strangbach rises west of the Horn-Bad Meinberg district of Fissenknick in a small spring pond. From its origin, the stream first flows in a north-west direction through the Leistrup forest and soon turns to the south-west. Before the Strangbach reaches Schönemark , it takes its first major tributary at KM 1.7, the 1.3 km long Massbrucherbach. In Schönemark the water takes its second tributary, the 1.2 km long Berentruperbach coming from the right. After a further kilometer of flow, the Strangbach flows into the Wedasch, which comes from the north . What is special is that Strangbach (3.4 km) and Wedasch (3.2 km) have covered an almost identical stretch of river up to this point. The Strangbach flows into the Werre after another 200 m east of Schönemark .
environment
The strand stream has a good water quality and is water quality class II (moderate load) assigned.
