Streckau
Streckau was a district of the former municipality of Luckenau in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt . It was on the connecting road from Luckenau to Trebnitz , northwest of the former district town of Zeitz . Streckau was devastated for the Streckau opencast mine in 1953-54 , because of the extraction of the lignite deposits stored there .
history
The place was first mentioned in 976 as Villa Strecouua , which was donated to the Zeitz diocese by Emperor Otto II . To 1815 Streckau belonged to the Saxon Office Zeitz and was in the newly formed district Zeitz in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Prussian province of Saxony integrated.
