Sturm auf Paradies is Saltatio Mortis' eleventh album and the sixth on which they play medieval rock . It was released on September 2, 2011 and entered MediaControl's German album Top 100 at number 3.

Booklet design

The booklet shows a modification of the scene Freedom leads the people by Eugène Delacroix , in which the protagonists have been replaced by the band members.

Lyrics

In terms of lyrics, a broad spectrum is offered on this album as on the previous album. In addition to fairy tales set to music ( Nightingale and Rose ) and a lyrical examination of nuclear power ( Fiat Lux ), the album also contains texts with biblical and mythological references ( Fall of Man or Orpheus ). How will on previous albums topos of the traveling minstrel in the titles of the last minstrel , Eulenspiegel and the road again sung. God throws not treated, similar to the song Koma from the album Aus der Asche , the topic of life-extending measures and euthanasia .

Worth mentioning

  • After the two previous albums Aus der Asche and Wer Wind sæt were recorded with a new line-up , there was also a change in the line-up for this album . So now Luzi the L took part in this album, who has been a member of the band since April 2011 (after leaving Schelmish ) .
  • The album was also released in two other limited editions. The first version includes another CD with seven piano interpretations of songs that also appeared on the actual album. The second version also contains a DVD with bonus material, in which, among other things, background information about the songs is presented.

In addition to the eight musicians of the band, the following guests also took part on this album:
