Süd ( French Sud or English South ) is a region of Cameroon with the capital Ebolowa .

geography

The region is located in the south of the country and borders in the northwest on the Littoral region , in the north on the Center region , in the northeast and east on the East region , in the southeast on the Republic of the Congo , in the south on Gabon , in the southwest on Equatorial Guinea and in the West to the Atlantic .

history

The region (until 2008 Province) was established in 1983 with the division of the province of Central South ( Center-Sud / Center-South ) in the provinces of the center and south.
