Suffern is a place in Rockland County in the state of New York in the United States . The village was founded in 1773 and has belonged to the town of Ramapo since 1896 . At the 2010 census , Suffern had 10,723 residents.
Suffern is north of Mahwah, New Jersey, east of Hillburn , south of Montebello and west of Airmont .
