Supergator is an American horror film from 2007 . Brian Clyde directed the film and co-wrote the script with Frances Doel and Jeffrey Sturges .

action

Volcanologist Scott Kinney travels to a Hawaiian island with his assistant Ryan to investigate the activities of a volcano that appears to be about to erupt. The researcher Alexandra Stevens and the journalist Carla join the expedition. Meanwhile, a giant crocodile kills several people on the island. The creature was created during an experiment with Phobosuchus DNA, in which the scientist Kim Taft was involved, who is now hunting the monster together with the crocodile hunter Jake. On the way to the volcano, Ryan and Alexandra also fall victim to the crocodile. Kinney teams up with Jake and Kim to kill the monster. Meanwhile, Carla tries to warn the people in a nearby luxury resort who are holding a big lūʻau , but nobody believes her. The crocodile reaches the facility and kills numerous people, even Kim is eaten. Kinney, Jake and Carla decide to kill the monster with a gas explosion, since normal weapons prove to be ineffective. To do this, they lure the animal to an artificial volcano in the resort that runs on gas. Jake sacrifices himself to attract the crocodile, and the monster is killed in the explosion of the artificial volcano.

Supergator - The killer crocodile was rated rather negatively by the critics. Cinema described the script and actors as "laughable", the effects "politely as unfinished" and summed up the film with the conclusion "scrap, shed, screeching alarm". On the Rotten Tomatoes website , the production received a reader rating of 9% based on 167 votes.
